Hi everyone!

The new miniatures for this month are now available!

This month, the Bug Army gets three new releases:

Sniper – A new long-range specialist, available with several options, including two different rifles. He can also be fielded on foot or mounted on his bike.

Kagaos – A pack of six creatures with different poses, ready to add some fast and particularly unpleasant wildlife to your army.

Cabz-Gakea – Probably the biggest release of the month! A massive creature carrying two warriors into battle, equipped with a heavy flamethrower and protected by energy shields. Definitely not the kind of thing you want charging toward your lines.

As usual, thank you very much for your support. I hope you’ll have fun printing, painting and playing with them!

On the Damocles Wars side, I also managed to get another game in with my son recently, and it ended up being an incredibly close battle.

By the final turns, both armies were badly damaged, with several squads hanging on with very few HP. There had been a lot of heroic actions and some genuinely interesting tactical decisions throughout the game, but in the end everything came down to morale.

My unit with the Partisan rule had managed to redeploy after being taken out of the fight. Meanwhile, my Fanatical Commissar was still holding his ground alone, and doing a surprisingly good job of it!

At that point, things were actually looking very good for me. My son's remaining troops would have had to cross almost the entire length of my deployment zone to reach the returning Partisans, and considering how few HP they had left, the battle was pretty much mine.

And then my Commissar got decapitated.

Seeing that, the freshly returned Partisans promptly failed their morale and fled the battlefield.

That was it. 😄

So a battle that looked almost certainly won disappeared in a single morale check. It was frustrating, obviously, but also exactly the sort of ending that makes a game memorable.

It was a really fun battle, full of little stories, heroic actions and meaningful tactical choices. And moments like this are a good reminder of why I’m enjoying developing Damocles Wars so much. Being able to build the game and then sit down and have this kind of battle with my son is pretty damn cool.
